Rachel Harrington

Acoustic Americana
Category: Barnstaple Fringe

Starts: Tuesday, June 10, 2008

Rachel Harrington has been doing things in the wrong order for quite some time. She had extensive radio airplay before performing her first live solo show, and opened several concerts for Grammy winners before her debut album, The Bootlegger's Daughter, became a top-shelf spin on Bob Harris's renowned BBC radio show.

Reared among the Pentecostal pines of Oregon, Rachel represents a new generation of singer-songwriters who carefully craft songs that cross folk, country and bluegrass genres. Rachel’s evocative vocals and gifted songwriting, coupled with duo partner and multi-instrumentalist Zak Borden on vocals, mandolin and guitar, create a deep and haunting sound.

Harrington's new album is due out May, 2008.
