Maverick jazz band and unlikely rock quintet
Category: Barnstaple Fringe
Starts: Wednesday, June 25, 2008
This East London based five-piece pride themselves on side-stepping convention, with rousing results. In the wake of fellow risk takers Acoustic Ladyland, Led Bid are paving the way for an exciting new generation of jazz musicians, daring to rip up the rulebook and leap into the unknown. The Bib’s sound is dominated by the dueling twin alto saxophones of Chris Williams and Pete Grogan, with extra textures added from bandleader Mark Holub on drums, Toby McLaren on keys and Liran Donin on bass; the results are gutsy, powerful live shows.
