AONB Local Life Photographic Competition

Capturing the essence of the local communities in the North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and North Devon Festival

Photographers of all ages, budding and professional, are invited to grab a camera and capture the essence of local life within the North Devon AONB and the North Devon Festival - a chance to win superb prizes and to be selected for the AONB’s Local Life Photographic Exhibition.

All photos must be digital, taken within North Devon’s AONB between 1 May and 30 June 2008, and submitted by 6th July 2008 with
an entry form via the AONB website.

In selecting the finalists the judges will be looking for images that demonstrate originality, humour or technical expertise. The winners will then be chosen via a public vote from early July to the end of September 2008, with opportunities to vote at the North Devon Show on 6th August or online at: northdevon-aonb.org.uk
The four categories are:

• Village life - the centre of the community, every-day life, special occasions, festivals, fairs and shows, local personalities.

• People at work - from traditional skills and crafts to present vocations or trades.

• Hidden treasures - forgotten and special buildings, boundaries, monuments, relics and archaeological sites.

• North Devon Festival - capture the essence of the Festival, the notion of celebration, togetherness, cultural vitality, rural sophistication, culture in the countryside. What does the Festival mean to you?

Category prize: Hoya Summit 7x50 Binoculars
