Category: Barnstaple Fringe
Starts: Thursday, June 05, 2008
Sean Taylor is a 24 year old singer and multi-instrumentalist from London who writes haunting, intelligent and provocative songs. His ambient take on traditional blues is compelling and has taken him to over 500 gigs in the last 6 years including Glastonbury Festival, Bush Hall and the 100 Club.
Karl hails from a border town with upstate New York called Cornwall Ontario in Canada and at present he lives in South Molton, in sunny North Devon. His old man taught him four cords when he was five and told him if he wanted to learn any more he was on his own. He took that to heart and at the age of fifteen he started to play bars in and around his home town to make a living. In the years that followed, Karl travelled through eastern Canada and Europe and landed in Toronto where he spent twelve years working exstensivly in the Canadian music, film and theatre scene, as a recording engineer, musician and composer. Karl's playing has been described as "a chainsaw going through galvanized steel." and " The guy puts his heart and soul into every note he plays."
Karl plays a malay of cover and original material that seems to speak to everyone. His passion for music is evident. He is not to be missed.
