Russian master of the accordion
Category: Music and Dance
Starts: Thursday, June 05, 2008
Alexander Korbakov was born in 1962 in Kamyshin on the River Volga. In 1980 he travelled to St. Petersburg to study the bayan (Russian accordion) at the Conservatoire and he continues to live and work in that city. He plays with the Russian State Concert Orchestra and has received acclaim as a soloist in many European countries. His classical repertoire includes works written for the accordion by Russian composers and other great composers such as Bach and Beethoven. This is a very special performance on this rare trip to the UK.
