This distinguished orchestra launches the Queen’s Theatre’s Classical Season with the highly respected Czech conductor Petr Altrichter.


Altrichter studied at the Conservatory of Music in Ostrava and the Janáček Academy and was principal conductor with the Prague Symphony Orchestra. From 1997 to 2001 he was principal conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and, since 2002, has been the principal conductor of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra.

Established in 1993, CNSO is today one of busiest symphonic ensembles in Europe, whose performances worldwide are much sought-after events. One of their most prestigious recent tours was of 44 European cites with Andrea Bocelli.

Receivers of many accolades, the orchestra’s interpretations of Mahler’s work have won them the Gustav Mahler Prize, and the prestigious agreement that the orchestra signed with IMG Artists London for worldwide representation and take pride in several Gold CDs.  For this concert they perform an exceptional programme of romantic masterpieces.
