Art Trek 1st weekend

Open studios and associated art events
Category:  Visual Arts & Literature

Starts: Friday, June 19, 2009
Ends: Sunday, June 21, 2009

Art Trek Open Studios takes place over two long weekends this year, starting on Friday 19th through to Sunday 21st June and again on the following weekend, Friday 26th and ending on Sunday 28th June. This will give visitors an extra chance to see some of the area's top artists and makers situated along the outstandingly beautiful coast and spread across the countryside of North Devon.   Be brave and get lost!   You can be sure you will not be far from an artist willing to guide you back on track.  Some artists have decided to stay open during that whole week as well, but please check first as these days may change nearer the event.

Artists and Makers across North Devon, Torridge and West Exmoor, will be inviting visitors into their homes, workshops, studios and a variety of other venues, including galleries, stately homes and sculpture gardens, even including an old undertakers workshop!  See demonstrations and enjoy sketching and making, on artist led walks through the area's most beautiful and imaginative gardens.

Art Trek is a friendly event, with no pressure on visitors to buy (but should you feel inclined, everyone would be delighted!) This is a great opportunity to meet and talk to the artists, see work in progress and even perhaps join in. You will be made welcome by all the artists involved and be encouraged to chat about art (or anything really) over a cup of tea.  One of last year's vistor comments was; "It felt like one big family as I went round visiting the artists!"
