I hope, as an ex-scientist with a PhD in ecology, I have earned the right to assert that Art offers the best opportunity to investigate the mysteries of life, the physical world and human behaviour.

As civilised people, I believe it is our privilege to understand, enjoy and be uplifted by it. For me, it is ideas and pigment stirred up together.

Richard will be showing his emotionally-charged oils and drawings: figures, landscapes and still-lives. Impasto paint surfaces and vibrant colours merge figures with landscape in his ‘Figurescape’ series.
