Art Trek
Category: Painting
Keiron Leach has been living in North Devon now for the past ten years, but was born in Surrey, where he spent much of his life.
He gained a degree in Fine Art at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham, and has exhibited regularly ever since in galleries across the country including London, several being solo exhibitions.
Keiron's love and respect for art history was kindled at a young age. He is greatly inspired by the English Landscape tradition that gave us great artists such as Gainsbourgh, Turner and Constable, and is moved by the directness and honesty many old masters drawings project.
Keiron primarily takes inspiration from his local surroundings, but is also interested in the way in which landscape painting has been treated within the confines of art history.
His work is generally produced on a small scale, thus inviting the viewer closer to become properly acquainted with the work if they wish.
A wide variety of inks and watercolours are used by Keiron, each bringing their own individual qualities. His work is attempting to convey a direct and tangible experience of the particular landscape that he is involved with.
Artists who greatly inspire him include, Turner, Constable, Gainsbourgh, Cozens, Girtin and Palmer. Contemporary Artists include, John Virtue, Anselm Kiefer and Norman Acroyd.
